EASY Pleated Face Mask with Filter Pocket | No Sewing Machine | Ear Saver Face Mask [Beginner]
Back again for another DIY Face Mask tutorial! Today, we will make an ear saver pleated face mask with a filter pocket.
What you need:
- 25cmx20cm fabric (pillowcase or old clothes will do)
- shoelace
- needle
- thread
- small safety pin
Here's the step-by-step procedure:
STEP 1
Place your fabric flat on a table with the right side in front.
Iron them.
Fold it in half horizontally and iron again.
Unfold it, then fold it at the top and bottom towards the center.
Then, iron it again.
Unfold and flip to the right side.
STEP 2
Pinch and fold 1 cm of the fabric.
Do this 3 times and iron every fold.
Then separate the two fabrics.
STEP 3
Place the right side on top.
Sew the raw edges.
Then flip it over and iron the top and the folds.
Make 2 small folds on the sides this will be the holder for the shoelace.
Hold it in place using a clip or pin.
Sew it using the invisible stitch.
Repeat this step for the other side.
STEP 4
Prepare the shoelace. It should be long enough like an ID lace.
Cut the aglet (the hard tip at the end of the shoelace) and burn the raw ends of the shoelace to remove the small scattered threads.
Put a safety pin on one end. The safety pin should be small enough to fit through the small folds at the sides that we made earlier.
Insert the shoelace in the fold all the way to the end.
Repeat this step for the other end.
Then tie both ends together.
And you're done!
